SECOND STONE BOOK FESTIVAL 17th, 18th and 19th September 2010.
Following the success of last year's Stone Book Festival, this years event will be held over the same weekend.
The Festival has managed to secure the following celebrities.
- Roy Hattersley, Carol Ann Duffy, Freddie Jones, Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall & Ray Johnson.

Roy Hattersley entered the House of Commons in 1964 as a Labour Member of Parliament. Between 1964-1992, he held various positions such as Under-secretary of State at the Department of Employment, Minister of Defence, Senior Minister of State at the Foreign Office, Privy Councilor, Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Affairs, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and served until 1992 and was made a peer in 1998. Roy Hattersley now writes regularly for The Times and contributes to numerous newspapers and magazines, as well as appearing frequently on radio and television. The author of twenty-three books, including A Brand from The Burning, The Life of John Wesley, The Edwardians and Borrowed Time, The Story of Britain between The Wars, his biography of Lloyd George will be published in September.

Carol Ann Duffy was born in
Scotland, but moved to Stafford when she was six years old.
Carol was educated in Stafford as Saint Austin's RC Primary School, St. Joseph's Convent School and Stafford Girls' High School. Her literary talent was encouraged by two of her English teachers. She was a passionate reader from an early age, and always wanted to be a writer, producing poems from the age of 11. Carol was almost appointed Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom in 1999 after the death of Ted Hughes, but lost out on the position to Andrew Motion. She became Poet Laureate in 2009. |

Freddie Jones was born in Stoke-on-Trent and
has had a long career in TV, Theatre & Film appearing in programmes
such as The Caesars, The Ghosts of Motley Hall, Children of the Stones
& Pennies from Heaven.
His film roles include, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, The Man Who Haunted Himself, Antony and Cleopatra, Zulu Dawn, Firefox, The Elephant Man, Dune and Wild at Heart. Freddie's eccentric, twitchy portrayals, often bordering on caricature, although sometimes critised, have nevertheless ensured his international recognition and popularity as a character actor. Freddie is currently appearing as Sandy Thomas in Emmerdale. |

| Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall has
written seven books about plants and gardening, including Gardening Made
Easy and Peonies: The Imperial Flower; she has also won two gold medals at
the Chelsea Flower Show. Her book, the Good Granny Guide offers a range of practical advice for grandparents, based on her experience as a grandmother. Jane's latest publications include the Ministry of Food,
Thrifty Wartime Ways to Feed Your Family Today and For Better For Worse, a
light-hearted guide to wedded bliss. |
