Jane will be talking about her books 'Ministry of Food', 'For Better or for Worse' and 'The Good Granny Guide'. 

Copies of her books will be on sale and Jane will be available for informal discussions and signing after her talk. The Harding Bar will be open.

Stone High Street from 10am

Book Fair & Auction - Children's Event with top children's authors

Full details soon, but a day not to be missed for all the family from toddlers to grandparents.

All Stone schools are participating and parents will get full details from them. 

 


Saturday, September 18th - Ray Johnson

Stone Station Community Centre

Wedgwood & Brindley - Canals, Chalk and Cheese

The performances will be based around the commissioning and achievement of the Trent and Mersey Canal and the meetings in Stone of the two great men. Josiah reflects on this as he anxiously waits for news of Brindley who has been struck down by a serious chill while surveying the Cauldon Canal and this, complicated by diabetes, is bringing his life to an end at his home at Turnhurst - in sight of his unfinished Harecastle Tunnel. 

Two performance, 3.30pm and 7.30pm

Lord Hattersley launches his new book, published on 18th September,  David Lloyd George - The Great Outsider.

Sunday, September 19th - Comic Masterclass

I can work with two groups in a day, maximum 30 in each group, and I need a minimum of two hours for each. Year 3 or older only. By the end of each session they'll have produced a comic with a strip in by each of them, which I run off on the photocopier and they each take a copy home, along with a caricature I'll have drawn of every one of them.
